A single spine staircase, also referred to as a mono-stringer staircase, is a highly
refined architectural feature engineered and manufactured bespoke to suit the
customer’s exact requirements. Designed around a central structural spine, this
staircase delivers exceptional strength while maintaining a light, open, and visually
striking appearance.

Each staircase is individually designed to align with the project’s spatial
constraints, aesthetic objectives, and functional needs. The central spine is
precision-fabricated and can be finished to complement the surrounding interior,
while treads, balustrades, and handrails are fully customisable in material, profile,
and finish. This allows seamless integration with both contemporary and high-end
residential environments.

The single spine design maximises light flow and creates a floating effect, making it
particularly well suited to modern, open-plan spaces where architectural impact is
paramount. Every detail, from tread proportions to fixing methods, is carefully
considered to ensure compliance with structural and building regulations while
achieving a clean, minimalist finish.

The result is a bespoke staircase that functions as both a structural solution and a
statement piece, tailored precisely to the customer’s vision, space, and lifestyle.

All timber treads are professionally oiled and sealed, ensuring a durable,
high-quality finish that requires no additional treatment prior to installation.

* Timber end caps are available to purchase from our shop to conceal the stainless
steel fixings when glass balustrades are used on any of our staircases. These are
simply bonded over the mounting points, creating the clean visual effect of the
timber tread passing seamlessly through the glass.

Available Timber Finishes

Our timber components are available in a carefully selected range of high-quality
wood stain finishes, allowing you to match your stair treads perfectly to your
staircase design and interior scheme. Each finish is professionally applied to
enhance the natural grain of the timber while ensuring a consistent, durable result.

  • Frost – A light, contemporary finish that softens the timber grain for a clean, minimal aesthetic
  • Pure – A natural, untreated-look finish that highlights the raw character of the timber
  • Satin Matt – A warm, mid-tone finish with a subtle satin sheen for a refined, modern look
  • Basalt Grey – A cool grey tone ideal for industrial and architectural interiors
  • Ebony – A deep, dark finish offering a bold, contemporary contrast
  • Teak – A rich, warm finish inspired by classic teak tones
  • Walnut – A deep brown finish that adds warmth and depth to premium staircase designs
  • Antique Grey – A muted, weathered grey finish for a sophisticated, timeless appearance

All finishes are designed to complement bespoke timber stair treads and glass
balustrade systems, ensuring visual continuity and a high-end architectural finish
throughout your staircase.
